Madelene Sciortino

Madelene is currently in her first year of graduate studies at the Milken Institute of Public Health, where she's pursuing a master's degree in Prevention and Community Health, specializing in Community Oriented Primary Care. Her academic journey began at the University of California, Davis, where she majored in Communications and minored in Public Health. During undergrad, Madelene started studying and researching youth violence and substance use. Her personal experiences fueled her passion for making a positive impact in these areas, inspiring her to continue her education and pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. Madelene is excited to bring her knowledge and enthusiasm to the Washington Highlands Firearm Violence Reduction Program as a graduate research assistant. She's dedicated to addressing crucial public health issues and making a difference in communities that are similar to the environment she was raised in.
